July 2024 – Up-Date

Welcome to our refreshed website.

The site will help us to keep members up-to-date with information on the London Hardwood Club and inform you of up and coming meetings.

The AGM was successfully held in the spring of 2024 and was followed in June by a well attended Market Meeting.

Rupert Walker is to retire as Club President at the next AGM (Spring 2025) and James White (acting VP) will take on the roll from that date onwards.

I know the members will join me in thanking Rupert for everything he has done for the LHC as President over recent years and we look forward to James taking hold of the reins. Both Robert Morgan and Kevin Edmunds are retiring from the LHC committee and again we would like to thank both for many years of service.

With some personnel changes on the committee in the near term it would be great to welcome some new faces (younger faces) to join so please volunteer or volunteer a colleague….

Those who attend the meetings on a regular basis will be please to know that The Globe has refreshed the food menu for us. A copy of the new Menu will be posted onto this site in due course. 

The next LHC meeting is planned for Wednesday 25th September 2024 at the Globe (12pm for lunch at 1pm) Our guest speaker will be Caroline Duhesme from ATIBT (www.atibt.org/en ) to talk about a range of subjects including EUDR, Tropical/African hardwoods. There will be an email sent out in due course with more information and we hope to see you all in September. 2025 – New Year Lunch

The 2025 NYL will be held at the HAC (Prince Consort Rooms) on Friday 17th January 2025. The ticket price will be £150 per person due to the increased cost of the venue, catering and entertainment (more information to follow)

With help from our amazing web wizard, we have updated our meeting booking form which will now all be done online through a link on your invitation email. This link will allow you to book your place and let you choose your meal for the day from their delicious menu.
